Biography:

Kelly Whalen is the Director of Nursing Experiential Education in the School of Nursing and Health Science’s Department of Nursing at Providence College.  Kelly completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Management from Providence College in 2010 and her masters in Healthcare Administration at Salve Regina University in 2014.

With more than a decade of experience in the healthcare field, Kelly has previously worked at Boston Children’s Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  Working with medical students, Kelly provided career and academic counseling and advising to all medical students, helping them to decide on specialty, prepare resumes, personal statements, and apply to residency programs. 

In her role as Director of Nursing Experiential Education, Kelly oversees all junior and senior nursing internship experiences and support faculty partnerships and evaluation processes. She also promotes experiential learning through the SNHS Summer Healthcare Academy, global engagement opportunities, and community-based curricular and co-curricular activities.

Kelly has an open door policy and encourages all students to come and discuss career goals and aspirations!
