Biography:

Dr. Michelle Bull is an accomplished nurse educator and clinician with over 25 years of nursing experience and more than 12 years dedicated to nursing education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Rhode Island, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) from Sacred Heart University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on systems leadership from Rhode Island College. Her doctoral project centered on implementing a community resource nurse model to increase access to resources for low-income families, promoting healthier living outcomes.

Dr. Bull’s clinical expertise lies primarily in maternal and child health, where she has maintained a robust practice alongside her academic responsibilities. She has taught in prelicensure nursing programs for over a decade and has served in various leadership roles within nursing school departments, demonstrating her commitment to shaping the next generation of nurses. She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Nurse Education at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Providence College.

Her current and past professional credentials include certifications as a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), as well as certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP). Dr. Bull is an active member and regional board member of Sigma Theta Tau, Delta Upsilon Chapter. She has been a member of the Organization of Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) and served as a former Foundation Board Member, where her involvement included participating in a mission trip to Guatemala to advance global health initiatives. Additionally, she has served as a peer evaluator for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Dr. Bull’s teaching philosophy is guided by a quote from an unknown author: “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” This mantra reflects her dedication to inspiring students and fostering excellence in nursing education.
